Online Mixed Media Class
Class Description
Learn how to cultivate a regular art practice! Incorporate journaling elements, work in a sketchbook and create art for yourself as well as to share with others. In this sequential mixed media class you will derive inspiration from your internal and external worlds to create meaningful and unique works of art. Gain a deeper understanding of key art concepts, like line, shape, color, value, texture and more. Play with a variety of materials like watercolors, acrylic paints, ink, graphite, etc. You will learn mixed media techniques including collage, printmaking, painting, mark making, and image manipulation. Combine and contrast elements, to create visually striking images. This class is accessible for all, whether you consider yourself an artist or not.
Location
Classes will take place online. Atreyee will send meeting link and a recurring calendar invite.
Class Requirements
Participants must be 14 years or older.
All abilities welcome!
Class Details
Time: 12:30 PM - 3:00 PM Pacific Time
Dates: 6/2/2023 - 8/4/2023 (no class on 6/30 and 7/7)
A total of 8 in-person classes, each 2.5 hours long, taking place on Friday evenings. Classes are capped at 8 students. If there is more interest, a new class will be added.
Class Price
$500
Materials are not included in the class price. A materials list will be sent two weeks before first class. (Treat the material list as a general suggestion. Use what you have, or swap materials for other similar items. Try to upcycle or recycle materials. Check creative upcycling centers near you, and / or your local Buy Nothing group for materials. Consider buying any new materials from a locally owned art supply store.) Additional materials may be requested after class begins.
